The Bible teaches us to be generous, support those in need, and give in ways that reflect God’s grace and Christ’s example. In the book of James, we are reminded that true faith is demonstrated through actions, such as meeting the needs of others (James 2:15-16). This generosity can take the form of acts of service, or it can be expressed through financial gifts.

In British Columbia, and across Canada, donations to registered charities not only benefit the community but also provide tax relief to the donor through income tax credits. This encourages individuals to manage their resources wisely while growing in generosity. Anyone earning income in Canada can take advantage of these tax benefits.

St. Andrew’s Presbyterian is a registered charity and provides official receipts for financial contributions over $25, provided we have the donor’s name and address. While we deeply appreciate all donations, cash gifts without identification cannot be receipted, meaning the giver will miss out on the tax benefits.

To make it easier to receive tax receipts for regular donations, we offer two simple options: you can request numbered envelopes from our Envelope Secretary, or you can set up regular contributions via credit card or direct bank transfer. For more information about these options, please contact our Envelope Secretary, Jenny, or our Church Treasurer, Hallie.
